The Wikimedia Foundation has created a new initiative to enable mobile access, free of data charges, to Wikipedia in developing countries. The project is called Wikipedia Zero and it aims to reduce the biggest barrier to accessing free knowledge, cost of data usage.
The Wikipedia Zero initiative is based on partnerships with mobile phone operators, whereby the operator agrees to deploy a version of Wikipedia in such a way that their users do not need to pay for data access. An operator partner can take part in the Wikipedia Zero program by zero-rating the mobile version of Wikipedia in each of the most common languages of their country.
Currently the initiative is already helping many people to get free knowledge, below you can see a table of where is Wikipedia Zero available.
